Visual identity & property investors' book

Corte Velho

Located in Portugal’s eastern Algarve, Corte Velho is a premium development comprising bespoke homes, a hotel, spa, and golf course. Seeking to attract investors, James Gorst Architects appointed Grain to create a visual identity and promotional book. Bringing the project to life ahead of construction, the book demonstrates the harmonious, environmentally friendly design of each property while evoking the unspoiled beauty of Corte Velho’s 135-acre rural location.

The hand-drawn signature-style logo expresses a sense of craft and a natural, human tone. Reflecting the development’s aspirational, luxury brand credentials, the 64-page investors’ book employs sumptuous visuals and materials for a tangible sense of quality. Presented in a stone colour cloth-covered case, the landscape format book is driven by evocative photographs of the locale. These are supported by illustrations indicating the modernist spirit of the proposed architecture, with textural highlights inspired by traditional materials.

The overall effect is an identity that communicates the values shaping this six-star resort – architectural excellence, environmental harmony and residential choice.

I enjoyed working with Grain on the Corte Velho graphics. I was particularly impressed with the way they handled the brief and the finished work looks stunning.” – Nicholas Crawley, Developer
