Studio Manager falls for design

For the past 9 months I have been attempting to juggle a my job as Project & Studio Manager at Grain whilst studying a part-time Graphic Design course at Shillington College in London. It has been intense, hard work and slightly emotional, but having just graduated and still being allowed through the door at Grain, I can proudly say I was successful!

Shillington focuses on teaching students how to respond to a brief in a short space of time, to expose us to the reality of working in the graphic design industry. This has gone hand in hand with working at Grain as Project & Studio Manager as I feel that I can now add a valuable contribution to projects and have a much better grasp of the different stages of a project from initial concept development to the execution of a design.

I have really enjoyed learning how to create interesting design solutions, new brands and understanding the importance of developing an accurate tone of voice consistent with a brand’s identity. Most of all, I have fallen in love with the moment the seed of an exciting new idea appears right in front of you, then taking that seed and carefully nurturing it into becoming a unique visual representation of a strong and clear concept.

Looks like I’ve gone and fallen in love with design…

Here are some samples from my portfolio.
