Louis Vuitton Series 3 Exhibition: How luxury becomes a fine art

London was the destination for the unconventional exhibition “Louis Vuitton Series 3” last month. Our PR executive Kent Le had so much to talk about after the trip!

A modern and unexpected reinterpretation of a fashion show, the exhibition, following on from Series 1 and Series 2, invited visitors to discover Nicolas Ghesquière’s inspirations for the Fall 2015 women’s show as the Artistic Director for women’s collections at Louis Vuitton.

The exhibition was held at 180 Strand adjacent to Somerset House and this time was open to the public with free admission from 10am to 8pm, from September 21st to October 18th 2015. The public had a chance to have some insight into the history of the brand, how it developed over the years and how products are actually made.

As I walked inside I immediately got the feeling of being somewhere surreal yet magical. The 3D projection of their recent collections was beautifully presented in the first room, giving visitors an overview of how designs and concepts are created.

Moving to the “craftsmanship” room, I had the opportunity to see how a Louis Vuitton bag or purse is made by hand, with an amazing level of attention given to detail. I sometimes wondered how a Louis Vuitton bag could cost thousands of pounds but looking at the fine art of making them, my question was answered.

As I stood there and saw each piece of the purse being assembled, I was astonished by the cleverness, care and love put in. No wonder why the brand maintains its strong reputation and loyalty from their customers for generations.

Here are more photos I’ve taken from the trip. Have you been there? I would love to hear more from you!
