Hello! I’m Elodie and back in my home country, France, I am studying graphic design at e-artsup. Every summer we are required to do an internship, and this summer, I have set myself the challenge of improving my English, in addition to my graphic mind and capabilities. Whilst searching for design studios abroad, I discovered Grain Creative who are based in the UK and have very beautiful projects, so I decided to approach them for an internship. After three weeks of working for them, I can safely say it is really not easy!
I arrived during a busy period for them – a lot of presentations! But I think all design studios are busy in the summer, regardless of where you go. I received a really interesting brief to begin with. I was very excited by the idea of designing a logo for a new college group. It’s very different from France so all was new for me. I don’t know many brands in the UK, so attempting to design a logo was quite a challenge. Despite that, I really enjoyed working on this project and everyone was thrilled with the final result.
The Grain team and family are very nice! And of course, Sunny too! It’s not like working in a big agency, here we’re together all of the time in one office, so communication is much easier as everybody gets involved. I think I’m beginning to understand English a little better, although speaking is still not easy – I’m working on it!
