Petit Tribe launch

There have been four celestial events today: the solar eclipse, spring equinox, a supermoon, and the online launch of new childrenswear brand Petit Tribe! Petit Tribe is a new luxury childrenswear brand unlike any other, fusing traditional African inspiration with contemporary design.

A dream come true

Grain has been working with Petit Tribe from the beginning to help transform an inspired dream in the mind of an ambitious entrepreneur into a fully formed clothing brand.

Olatoun was inspired by the nomadic Fulani tribe from her childhood in Nigeria. She dreamed of fusing the unique and vibrant culture of the Fulani tribe together with contemporary fashion to produce a luxurious childrenswear brand. The Petit Tribe collection features bold, colourful prints and wearable cuts for girls and boys from newborn to 12 years old.

Grain has been working closely with the team at Petit Tribe and the brand’s creative director, Joanne Jong of Yulan Creative, to help make this idea into reality. We created their identity which features a distinctive giraffe head motif and a crisp, contemporary wordmark. To complement the identity we designed a signature geometric print.

We applied this identity across a range of packaging including shopping bags, gift boxes, tissue paper, woven garment labels and swing tags. Today the ecommerce website designed and developed by Grain has launched, already with a huge spike in traffic from the enthusiastic social media following – and the first orders are rolling in!
