Newland College opens today

We simply cannot stop talking about them. You already heard about Newland College when we announced the launch of its website. But now we are another step closer to the dream that kids from the age of 12 years upwards can enjoy this fantastic new school.

Grain has created the identity, website, uniforms and now the signage and interiors for this ground breaking school. Tomorrow for the fist time parents, friends and students can visit the school and see with their own eyes the stunning environment and the wonderful team in this exciting location in the heart of Buckinghamshire – Newland Park, Gorelands Lane, Chalfont St Giles HP8 4AD. Grain has worked with the team from Newland College and their colleagues from the Skola Group to transform the space into an environment that fosters their vision and facilitates their teaching style in every detail. Far away from any normal school environment we have been able to create this exciting launch pad for excellence in learning.

Newland College offers the international Baccalaureate focusing on teachers and students learning together and getting rid of the passiveness and students just listening to wise old owl at the front. The school is revolutionary throughout. They are using an oval race track table with and IT-heart  which allows every student to stream what they have on their own laptop screen to displays visible to everybody else.

How big is a white board? The entire wall to facilitate boundless creativity. Does a library need books? Yes, but reading in this school is mostly done on Kindles or iPads which facilitate digital note taking. Gone are rows of tables with uncomfortable chairs. Welcome assemblies of sofas, changing on a daily basis that let every student define the way they want to learn.
