Grain Creative: success story for Redbooth project management

Grain was recently invited to be featured as a Redbooth project management success story. The filming was great fun and it was a good opportunity to reflect on our growth and success.

It all started more than a year ago when we were winning more projects, which were more complex and on a larger scale than previously. We were at a crossroads, deciding if we should hire a full-time project manager, or find the right software to keep our entire team organised. If you work for an SME in the creative industries, finding the right project management tool is a challenge as it involves budgeting and managing people as well. Half of our team works in the office together and the other half often works off-site, between other parts of London and the UK, continental Europe and sometimes South Africa. And of course Christoph and Madelyn are constantly in and out of meetings and also travel for work.
“I have a lot in my head, sometimes work late at night, and it can be challenging to keep the team up to date with the details of every project. In order to have a brainstorming meeting or even just a discussion, I’d have to talk to my team in the office first then pass it on later to the others.” said Creative Director Christoph Geppert.
Initially, we struggled to find an easy-to-use and cost-effective project management software that fits in with what we do. Then we found Redbooth.

We loved the software immediately. Redbooth was in its early days after rebranding and relaunching from Teambox, so not many reviews had been shared online. Nevertheless we decided to take the plunge and it was one of the best strategic decisions we’ve ever made. We found that tasks were managed so much better and things no longer fell between the cracks. Our efficiency shot up, leaving us to focus on the creative work we do best. In our first year of using the product, we saw repeat client business skyrocket from 30% to more than 80%!
Any nearby client, colleague or friend can listen to us enthuse endlessly about Redbooth. So when we were invited by Redbooth to share our experience, we jumped at the opportunity. We met their team including CEO Dan Schoenbaum, VP Marketing Charles Studt and VP Sales Jeff Koll.
