Founded in 1962, Bickerdike Allen Partners are expert witnesses and consultants in fields such as energy, sustainability, cladding and CDM (Construction Design & Management regulations). Most notably, they specialise in acoustics and construction technology, so when they asked us to design their identity and website, we sought to communicate these USPs whilst bringing their brand up to date.
We persuaded them to focus their attention on three key areas: Architecture, Acoustics, and Technology. Consequently, their new brand identity is driven by a ‘lock-up’ – characterised by contemporary, crafted type – where these three words appear directly below the company name, making it crystal clear what they can offer their clients.
This strategy was carried through to a new responsive website, with these key areas highlighted throughout the site and improved SEO. Navigation is simple and intuitive, with three engaging images providing easy access to sections showcasing ‘Architecture’, ‘Acoustics’ and ‘Technology’.
“We needed to update our practice identity and with 50 years of history to contend with, it was no small exercise. Working with Grain, we were able to develop a brief and work through a series of options to a final design that very much reflected the multi-disciplinary nature of our practice. Following on from this we then commissioned Grain to design and update our website. As a firm of architects, we very much appreciate Grain’s collaborative approach and their ability to manage and deliver a brief in sometimes challenging circumstances.” – Giles Greenhalgh, Partner
