Branding & design this autumn

With winter drawing ever closer we thought it would be the ideal time to let you know what we have been up to here at Grain Creative, giving you a peek at what’s bubbling away on the stove here, keeping us toasty.

International Community School

The book is evolving! With the likes of iPads and Kindles, the word ‘book’ doesn’t necessarily refer to the physical item as much as it does to the story itself.

Victor & Herschel’s Mission to Mars, invented by the students at the International Community School in London, has been designed for the most current platforms for reading and learning: iPads and desktop computers. Though this is a story intended for, and made with the help of, primary school students it doesn’t mean that we didn’t learn something from reading it (who knew Jupiter had 63 moons!) and for that matter, we were thoroughly entertained whilst doing so.

We collaborated with illustrator Tonwen Jones and the ICS students to create the story of Victor & Herschel who lead this educational journey through space in a smore-fuelled rocket.

To become even more immersed in the experience of this story, the students themselves also narrate it, letting the reader focus on revealing a wealth of discovery through the clickable items on each page.

Get your Jupiter boots on and have a read!

Amersham Museum

We are delighted to have been working with our friends at Amersham Museum to design and launch their new website. Focused on bringing the past up-to-date with today’s technology, Grain has created a clean, functional and user-friendly site, with the history of what started as a small market town only a couple of clicks away.

Lucideon

We are very proud to have created a new name and identity for Ceram, a leading materials development, testing and assurance organisation. The name Lucideon was generated to support and strengthen the company’s brand values: independent, accurate, creative and responsive. The identity is being launched soon, so watch this space!

Meanwhile in the Grain studio we’ve been cooking up a storm with some exciting branding projects for Kenwood the kitchen people and – also featuring some kitchens of its own – a London high-rise property development, plus the brand development for an all-new range of stylish childrenswear. Another project in the cauldron is a fresh, sophisticated website for architects and acousticians Bickerdike Allen Partners.

We’ll be back in touch in the new year – Christmas will have come and gone and there may be some snow on the ground by then. Until we meet again, we wish you a warm and happy autumn.
