3D printing looks set to take a much bigger part in the way we create our products, even our buildings. The construction method means that prototypes can be constructed quickly and easily so that the finished items can be made perfectly to our standards. Structural weaknesses from other construction methods can be eliminated too.
Holland based Universe Architecture have revealed plans to create 3D printed buildings.
The amazing structure of the building is based on a Möbius strip, and looks set to challenge traditional building methods and architectural design.
However, 3D printing isn’t the answer to all our problems: attempts to create 3D printed 12” records proved that there are still aspects of traditional methods that cannot be replicated with such accuracy. Even the top of the range 3D printers could do the records no justice.
There’s no doubt that the end products look great though and it’s only a matter of time before this becomes a viable method of creating records.
