Petit Tribe in Milan: an unforgettable night with Vogue Italia & Anna Wintour

We are over the moon that Petit Tribe, the new childrenswear label with branding, packaging and ecommerce website by Grain, was showcased in the prestigious Next Talents 2016 scout initiative of Vogue Italia & Yoox.com (owner of NET-A-PORTER) this week in Milan. Adding to the kudos is the fact that Petit Tribe is the very first childrenswear brand to be featured in ‘The Next Talents’, and is one of only eleven brands to be chosen from around the globe.

First lady of fashion, American Vogue’s editor Anna Wintour OBE, attended the event and visited our stand. She personally complimented Petit Tribe’s branding and packaging design that we worked so hard on, not only designing but realising beautifully across all the applications from stationery to the gift boxes, hang tags and even tissue paper featuring the bespoke Petit Tribe jacquard pattern.

From the very beginning of the brand concept, we worked closely with founder Olatoun Jolaoso and Creative Director Joanne Jong of Yulan Creative and launched the brand online in March 2015. The print-led label is born in Africa, bred in London. Its mission is to bring a new force of strength to the childrenswear market and it is exciting to have this recognised by tastemakers and industry leaders Vogue Italia and Yoox.com.

It’s been an amazing journey over the past couple of years and we are so glad this hard work has paid off. Creating a new brand from scratch is never easy but Vogue Italia’s recognition proves that as long as you are passionate about what you do and give your brand a good soul, it will flourish.

Over the last two decades we have helped many entrepreneurs achieve their dreams of setting up their business and creating compelling and meaningful brands. Reflecting on Petit Tribe’s achievement, Madelyn Postman, Grain’s creative director and former Gucci art director, said ‘Our hearts have been in this project from the beginning – it’s like giving birth to a child and watching it grow. And like a proud parent, we’re bursting with pride about this accomplishment!’
