The chosen concept
Like other growth areas, the coffee market in China is booming, with the nation’s consumption growing ten times faster than the average world growth rate. That’s a heck of a lot of coffee! When it comes to espresso-based happiness, Costa has become a global household name and one that is gaining a foothold in China.
While working on Main Squeeze juices, a Chinese FMCG brand, we were asked to develop packaging design concepts for Costa’s own-brand apple and orange juices. In the UK, suppliers like Innocent and Johnsons Juice Co supply Costa’s high street branches with all the juice they need.
In China, Costa identified the potential for a range of own-brand juices, and asked us to develop packaging design concepts for 250ml bottles of orange and apple juice. The visual palette we explored is very much in line with Costa’s own identity, with different routes introducing fruit elements and strong typography for on-shelf impact.
